Kyle Tyler

NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development

Kyle is a Fisheries Scientist for NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, where his research focusses on quantifying and understanding drivers of threatened, endangered and protected species bycatch in commercial fisheries. His recent work has involved quantifying seabird attendance and interaction with commercial fisheries, and the risk for population-level effects. Previously, Kyle’s research has focussed on identifying the hydrological and other environmental drivers of spatial-temporal variation in riverine fish reproduction, larval assemblages, and recruitment. He has also investigated the salinity and temperature tolerances of prawns to determine their susceptibility to estuarine flooding in the context of flooding-related declines in fishery productivity.
